The Greatest People Consider The Collective - this is one of the slogans that our friend, Elliot Aronow, wrote for a campaign that ended up being put on hold due to Covid-19. These words are emblematic of our brand and what we’ve always stood for. What we didn’t know then was how true they would ring during the events of 2020.
We were asked to join BRANDS x BETTER in late March and to us it was a no brainer. BRANDS x BETTER represents a new movement in how brands are more thoughtful in their treatment of customers, teams, and suppliers. As like-minded brands, we have united in an effort to give back to those affected by COVID-19, while also supporting conscious consumer spending and doing our part to keep the economy functioning. What started as a coalition of 26 brands pledging to donate a share of sales has evolved to over 100 brands who have collectively raised over $3 million dollars.
We are proud to be able to broaden our impact by being a part of this coalition of brands. For us this has meant keeping our operations going and supporting employees and partners throughout the supply chain, and doing our part to donate to those in need.
As a Brooklyn-born brand, we focused our fundraising efforts on City Harvest, New York City’s largest food rescue organization. City Harvest helps feed nearly 1.2 million New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables. During April and May, GREATS committed to donating $15 from every order to help support City Harvest’s efforts in Covid relief. Together with our customers, we raised over $117 thousand dollars, which equates to over 350 thousand meals.
We could not have done any of that without you, our customers. We are so grateful for your continued support of the collective.
