Consider the Collective

Consider the Collective is a GREATS ™. It's my belief that without considering others, you're destined to fail. Fail in life, fail in business, fail in happiness. Business' need to be prosperous and GREATS is no different. But I believe that part of our responsibility as a business is to also do what's right.  

Consider the Collective is a GREATS ™. It's my belief that without considering others, you're destined to fail. Fail in life, fail in business, fail in happiness. Business' need to be prosperous and GREATS is no different. But I believe that part of our responsibility as a business is to also do what's right.  So we came up with Consider the Collective and incorporated into our brand mission. Well technically our friend Elliot came up with the statement but you get the point. When we decided never to use single use plastics in our packaging in 2015 that was a consideration of others and not just ourselves. When we set out to make the most accessibly price luxury sneaker in the world that was a consideration of others and not just ourselves. And when we joined Brands For Better that was in consideration of others and not just ourselves. These are just a few of many choices GREATS has made to make sure we're doing what we believe is right. Doing these things are almost never easy but they are right. MLK said it best "There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right" During the worst of the pandemic GREATS rose to the challenge and made donations to both City Harvest and the NAACP. Our donations to City Harvest were enough to feed 1000s of people for months and our donation to the NAACP hopefully can help support the continuation of the work needed to affect permanent change. These are not actions we are bragging about but we are proud we are doing what we believe is right. It's my hope that MLK is wrong when he said that doing what is right is not popular. Our goal is to make doing what's right the popular choice and by doing so, everyone would have to Consider the Collective.
